Position Objective:
Under limited supervision, this position is responsible for all phases of interactive project planning, design and execution, serving as primary expert and point of contact for interactive platforms and system interfaces. Duties include working with departmental teams to design and deliver projects that meet the College's strategic plan and goals, and tracking interactive design, quality assurance and deployment. Responsible for development, implementation and effectiveness of marketing and communications initiatives that are delivered primarily through web and other interactive media for Broward College and its programs. Leads projects with assistance from writers, designers and others critical to development and implementation of interactive communications. Recommends marketing strategy and communications plans. Reviews site analytics, recommends strategies for search engine optimization, Internet advertising and the effective development and integration of social media with other traditional marketing tactics.

These goals are accomplished in close connection with the Vice President of Public Affairs and Marketing and through interdepartmental collaboration with college the leadership team, designers, web developers, and outside freelancers or vendors as needed.

Minimum Education:
Bachelor's degree with a major in communications, advertising or marketing preferred.

Master's degree preferred.

Minimum Experience/Training:
Six years experience managing web-based products, a proven track record of interactive project delivery and demonstrate knowledge of Internet technical protocols such as HTML, Javascript, XML, web publishing and database structure.

Demonstrated expertise in interactive marketing and communications with particular emphasis on supervising web communications and social media strategies.

Experience with SharePoint, Visio and Excel is preferred.

A familiarity with design tools such as Photoshop, InDesign and QuarkXPress and video tools such as Final Cut Pro is beneficial.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Demonstrate marketing expertise with a keen understanding of how interactive communications fit into the overall marketing mix to achieve strategic objectives.

Strong interpersonal and organizational skills including the ability to direct the complex processes involved in web development and key interactive marketing projects.

Strong leadership skills in a team environment.

Sufficient expertise to effectively direct the work of support staff in implementing marketing and strategic communications projects that may involve web site development, analytics, search optimization, social media tactics, and other interactive communications.

Ability to multitask, manage multiple priorities in a fast paced environment.

In-depth functional knowledge and expertise in area of specialization and general knowledge of related areas in the College.

Ability to perform complex administrative analysis with only general supervision.

Strong diagnostic, analytical and problem-solving skills.

Excellent coordination and communication skills used appropriately influence the decision-making of individuals and groups at all levels in the College.

Ability to plan and manage own work flow, priorities and results accomplishment.

Requires the ability to present and disseminate data to various levels.

Requires advanced knowledge of computerized systems and operating environments i.e. Microsoft Office Products and specialized computer systems.

Ability to interact and effectively communicate with a diverse employee and student population.
